It's a challenge for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and once went over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the record chasers, are all that remain for a team that has won it all.

It needed as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the pitchers that have represented Australia over five decades.

Whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Many contend the case for final game tension. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance was preceded by six games in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a disappointing period because it seemed my form was missing completely," said Healy.

"But once you take the field, your competitive nature take over and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from there Healy was in motion.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was removed Australia required another 66 at run per delivery - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the confidence to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we know we can do it."

Those words will be the final thing rival teams at this World Cup should hear.

During the last week a feeling they will win from any position has only strengthened - this victory following success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

During that phase they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she wished she had played with the discomfort.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have postponed consideration of ending her career, this tournament is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as skipper.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her ultimate challenge.
