Homages Continue for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Face a Security Hold.

Well beyond 14 days after the tragic deaths of celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones continue to honor the duo.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt prepared to express about his personal sorrow.

"Sufficient time has gone by that I can now articulate my loss into words," shared Elwes, noting that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced sharing more moments together I knew this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor uploaded never-before-seen clips from the production, adding that he doesn't recollect "any day without mirth".

"The film is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to helm it," Elwes wrote.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He finished with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Fellow Artist

In a distinct essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked seamlessly with everyone, and he comprehended the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Restricted

Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge agreed to bar the publication of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the local authorities.

A legal directive placed a security hold on the cases to prohibit the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" pertaining to the active case.

The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a public database noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Response and Criticism

After the killings, public figures expressed varying reactions.

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, making divisive claims that were met with immediate backlash by numerous commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his perspective to the critics last week. Talking on his program, Rogan characterized the remarks as "disturbing" and implied they showed a worrisome lack of empathy.

Rogan ended by proposing that an associate could have acted when the impulse to speak on the passing was made.
