Franchise leads Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their roles in the new Hunger Games series movie, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
News has broken that fan-favorite stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the latest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The project is now in the works.
A Significant Return to Panem
Lawrence and Hutcherson will once again portray Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, respectively. It is believed their cameos will probably be featured in a future-set scene, considering the main film series concluded with their characters living in peace.
This marks the sixth installment in the highly successful Hunger Games franchise.
The Source Material
Sunrise on the Reaping is adapted from a recent book by author Suzanne Collins. It acts as the follow-up prequel after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. For this project is Francis Lawrence, who has helmed the majority of the previous films in the series.
The Plot and New Cast
The film's story are set in the years leading up to the first Hunger Games, focusing on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, who would later become Katniss's mentor, is featured as a tribute in the deadly 50th Hunger Games.
The film welcomes several prominent actors in key parts:
- Jesse Plemons will portray Plutarch Heavensbee.
- Ralph Fiennes will appear as a earlier incarnation of the calculating President Snow.
