Clair Obscur Triumphs at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted recently, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the top winner. The surprise role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive earned the coveted Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Enhancing the developer's triumph, its talented cast also garnered individual awards. Jennifer English was named Best Lead Performer for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Performer for his acting as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive the studio was honored as Best Development Team. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its developers won 7 awards during the show.
Additional notable winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which won Outstanding Audio and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Premier PC Title. Worth mentioning, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the audience, with only four categories—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers’ Choice—judged by experts.
