In a surprising partnership that breaks usual expectations, Ubisoft has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Revealed

According to the official statement, "An unusual encounter pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of forbidden practices and terrifying metamorphoses echo through the obscurity." The storyline introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a hidden sect.

The adventure concentrates on "strange trials and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses

The trailer highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Prizes and Extra Material

Players who successfully complete the adventure will acquire an unique katana alongside several artifacts concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Third Free Story Addition

This update also adds the game's third complimentary story episode, titled "The Mystery." True to its name, "The Enigma" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
